LavaBlue, Alternative Fluorescent stain to Collodial Coomassie Flyer
(2967K)

A   B

The LavaBlue-stained 1-D SDS-PAGE gel (A) showing linearity of at least two orders of magnitudes (B). The image was obtained using a UV-based CCD camera, e.g. G:BOX (Syngene) with short wave band pass filter (450 – 550 nm). Two-fold dilution of the protein samples was made. Lane 1 contains the two target proteins, Bovine serum albumin (2nd band) and carbonic anhydrase (4 th band) at a concentration of 1280 ng/protein band, and lane 10, 2.5 ng/protein band.

C   D

2-D gel (chicken egg yolk extract) stained with LavaBlue TM (C) and colloidal Coomassie (D). LavaBlue protocol involves 1h-fixation, 1h-staining and 0.5 h-enhancement. Coomassie protocol involves overnight staining and 2-day destaining. Image of LavaBlue-stained gel-image was obtained using a CCD camera with UV/short wave band pass filter. Colloidal Coomassie-stained gel-image was obtained
